Default Dual Question on Tapers and Furled Leaders

I,m looking to put a taper inside my line personaly i don,t like flurocarbon much prefer nylon however a reply to a post last week gave me the idea of using flurocarbon but in a heavy gauge. what would be the heavyest fluro i could use to turn over 3lb nylon. I,m going to put a joining ring on the leader so any recomended knots for flurocarbon would be apreciated or any better ideas Any info links etc apreciated.
Also when using a furled leader do you count it as part of your leader,ie 5ft nylon + 5 ft furled = 10 ft leader, or would i add the 10ft to my furled leader ? Any advice apreciated, I,ve had them in my bag from the start of the season and having read so much about them i think it,s time to put one to the test ???????

Let us know how you get on?

I think the furled leader counts, so for a stream you might have a three foot furl plus 6 feet of nylon, of one sort or other.

As regards welded loops just look around the usual places. I got a lovely grey ridged dt recently with welded loops for a tenner.

sorry you were referring to leader loops - a 5 foot polyleader floating would do the job.

I find it hard to visualise why you feel you need a furled leader, when you're at this stage?

Don,t you think there an advantage to use ? Don,t you think there an advantage to use ? As for leaders a 5 ft poly tip would not do for the job i intend for it. Im looking to put a taperd leader inside my line. gives a lovely turn over
