Hi Bryan.

You may have a bit of a problem, there in very local terms. Last I heard, Packington is well weeded and may be shut for the Summer. Haven't been up there for weeks but it always suffers at this time of year.

Nearest other one is Heathcote near Warwick but it's only a couple of holes in a field and may well be suffering the same fate.

Draycote is shut.

Elinor may be your best bet, a nice stillwater, but it's an hours drive from Coventry. You can fish until you can't see your rod so you might get two or three hours in, unless you can skive off a bit early. Usually fishes well in the evening.

Bransford, near Malvern, is easy fishing but is about the same distance.

Thanks Guys
Your help is appreciated,as always,i knew my choice was limited,Elinor looks like a great idea, wish i could fit my float tubes into the car with all the bairns hockey kit,but staying in a hotel with a load of wet gear probably isnt good,
Roy can you,or anyone else who fishes elinor tell me if you need waders to fish,ie is it best to wade,

Bryan

Default Try Ellerdine - lakes in Shropshire

Hi Bry, You could try Ellerdine Lakes near Telford off the M54. Nice fishery with some large fish. Don't need waders and easy casting. Hut with brew facilities and small tackle shop. Ring Garry Edwards on 07964381056. He can tell you more.

Regards
