I had a pair of the eyleevel shades and they were fine, but were quite big and felt cheap.

I recently bought a pair of IronMan glasses from boots (spend over £5 and you get a 50% off voucher for sunglasses, and they have a range of polarised lenses). I have found these to be pretty good, until I sat on them.

I don't think there's any need to splurdge too much on expensive shades - it's not as if a £100 pair will let you see much (if any) further into the water than a £15 pair.

That said, it all depends on how much your vouchers are for. If you've got a hefty discount then I'd go for it.

If your on rivers or stalking! some of the (only some) more expensive ones are better.
If your just fishing larger waters they dont help.

Default Not cheap sunglasses

I use Oakley sunglasses, not cheap, however I consider them good value. I need prescription lenses, they do them. I can choose different lens tints for various conditions. They are optically correct which means I can use them for driving.
It's up to the individual, buy what suits you.

Hi Farm boy... my thoughts for what it's worth.... for river fishing, good polaroids are invaluable, for obvious reasons. For stillwater though, for 99% of the time, they are nothing more than eye protection.

I guess that the Maui Jim vouchers then, John ?

My own view is that they are invaluable for our sort of fishing - think how many you catch on the hang ? Good or great polaroids make a real difference to how far off you see those following fish.

Maui Jim's are about as good as it gets. I have a pair and use them all the time.................and I had to pay for 'em !!!

For a reasonable price i would go for flyingfisherman polariods, they were given a good rating in the mags and ive had a pair of ambers for 3years or more now and they aint broke yet, i paid around £30 for mine but there are some better spec available in the range, i also have 4 pairs of aldi glasses which do the job too, sceirra pair arnt that great, my best were a pair of fox ones which i promptly lost
