After years of struggle my daughter Alice is becoming a real fly fisherman.

I have fished most of the great chalk streams in Southern England and hope to get Alice over for a few days next May.

Getting girls to like fishing | Fishing With Daughters

I take my grandaughter (11) when she visits during the summer. We always hire a boat. One of her pre-fish duties is sandwich maker, always something odd. Roast lamb and mint rolls last time if I rem, washed down with pop.

Her first catch was a Perch which we were both glad to welcome briefly onboard. Casting leaves something to be desired hence the full face helmet and full leathers I don every outing now. It gets hot .

Great fun and I guess she likes it because she never wants to leave. I think the seed has been sown and look forward to many outings to come.
