Default Hardy Net

Been looking at the Hardy Marksman nets, especially the extra large model. Fancy using one when wading in the sea/river for bass, salmon & sea trout. Fed up of carting traditional Gye nets around on my back. Has anybody any experience of the extra large net and if so would it be capable of handling the above fish?

I had one as a Christmas Present and a very nice net it is, too. It has a good deep mesh.

I don't fish for your quarry but think it would be capable of netting quite large fish.

An alternative might be the McLean short handled net..a tad more expensive but I've seen DVDs of some monster Trout being netted in those.

As Roy says, lovely nets, I have the medium one and it will take a large fish, allegedly. Yet to find out.
My only worry would be the salt water may have an a effect on it.

I had the medium net for Christmas and a 7lb grilse went straight in back in March. I dont know what shocked me more a salmon on a size 14PTN or how easy it fitted in the net

Thanks for the input so far guys, seems that the extra large would be big enough but I hadn't thought about the effects of the salt water, would maybe detrimental to the scales in the McClean weigh net as well. Does anybody else know of a net that would fill my needs? Needs to be able to hang on my back and attach to an Orvis magnetic release, stand up to salt water AND cope with salmon, say up to 12-15 lbs.

I’m Glad you said that (I’m certainly not a Salmon man) but the guy I met walking down to the river that day and fished with insisted it was a grilse and due to the fact that he had wrinkles and white hair I went along with it.
Does that mean I can now talk boastfully that I have has a Springer on the fly then
