Default Rutland or Grafham????

Hi Folks,

I'm planning on fishing either of the above tomorrow. Any pointers on how they fished this weekend before I decide?

Any help greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

Simon.

Youth International is on Grafham next couple of days so you might want to avoid that.

I fish Rutland yesterday and it fished it's head off in the afternoon, the main basin is stuffed full of fish and they are not all on the boils. We were catching fish drifting a good 200 yards off the boils, good fun but they were all stockies.

Elinor also fishing well, a mate had 12 on dries there yesterday.
James

Depends which set of boils you prefer to sit on, Simon

I would go to Grafham - much of Rutland has a brown khaki tinge to it - the only clear water is at the top of the north arm and even there there were very few fish about, probably saw about 6 or 7 move all day. I only saw one non boil caught fish and I only managed one on a boil after a couple of hours so I would say it is certainly not fishing well for me at the moment although some boils are better than others, I think the fish are high in the water - rudder anglers were catching on fast glass line but some areas have really poor water clarity which restricts your tactics somewhat.

I fished Grafham today... just got home. Yeah England Youth were there but still managed to get a boat. I think they've got another training day tomorrow before the comp (so I was told). Shouldnt be much of a problem getting a boat for tommorow (but best to check).

If you get one dont anchor for obvious reasons mainly because the young guys are drifting everywhere. I spent all day drifting from savages down to the jetty pretty much on a DI7 . The fish are quite hard to find but I got mine in deep water somewhere near the middle. I dropped on them and within an hour I had about four fish. Mine were found about 7 feet down using an orange blob and two diawl bachs all about five to six feet apart...

Pulling pretty quick I managed to pick a few more before I left at 7.30ish. I think once you find them there are not too difficult to catch (maybe I was lucky today).

I was speaking to a guy who was drifting from the seat to the bowl of the dam who didnt get a knock. Most boats were drifting around savages etc etc none (apart from this guy) were over near the G bhoy area.

I hope this help.

Best wishes
