Cantref is closed for fishing at the moment, due to the dam being repaired. I believe that it's closed until next season.

Llwyn-on, just below Cantref, is also now closed for fishing, due to low water levels.

The fishing permit machines are in the car park of the Garwent forest centre.

I buy my permit online before going, and you can also get updates of when it's reopen for fishing from here :- The Booking Office - The Wye and Usk Foundation

You could try Usk Res. or Llandegfedd instead.

Welshfish.

I was up at Beacons Res for a look on Saturday and the boys fishing it said that Cantref was still closed although the work appears to be finished and the water level back to normal. As has been stated Llwyn Onn is also now closed. However a rumour is that Cantref has just been stocked so it could be about to be reopened anytime soon so worth checking at Garwnant Visitor Centre.

Beacons is worth a fish though, as is Crai (tickets from the farm on the main road I believe). As stated also you have Usk or Llandegfedd and you also have Talybont, Upper Neuadd, Penderyn (although you will have to find a member this season who will be willing to introduce you as a visitor for the day). Further afield you have Wentwood.
