Default hello all, newbie lanarkshire member

Hello everyone, I just thouht I'd post a quick hello to introduce myself. Ive recently gotten back into flyfishing after a 10 year sabatical ( you know, got married, moved house, have 2 boys) and rejoined my old club waters with the busby anlgling club on the White Cart, along with the Avon angling club as I live in Hamilton now. Enjoying my fishing again as its great to get outdoors plus get a wee bit of relaxation away from the usual family things. I thought I'd ask a quick question though, I pass over the River Calder every day at the bridge next to Calderglen Country Park in East Kilbride and was wondering if it is worth throwing a line there, what tactics are best and the best places to fish and more importantly if and where do I obtain a permit?
I know Im probably asking alot considering I'm only introducing myself but I thought I'd just ask.

Cheers
James

Welcome to the forum.

That will be the Rotten Calder. East Kilbride Angling Club have the fishing rights and stock the river with brown trout each year. Permits available from Lightbody Quality Butchers of Murray Square East Kilbride and also from the Calderglen Country Park shop, and the Anglers Emporium in Cadzow Street, Hamilton.
