Hunting anything alive with more than 2 dogs is illegal as far as I can make out.Mink as vermin may be different.

Mink hunting on rivers is legal in the uk. As many hounds and hunters as you want.

Are you a Scottish Nationalist? Illegal there after Scotland's Protection of Mammals Act 2002.

I was fishing on the Suir in Tipperary a few weeks ago and there was a mink hunt going on with I'd say 15-20 hounds. 1 mink spotted - none caught. The river was thick with suspended silt for hundreds of yards downstream.

Sorry gentlemen, I didn't think when I wrote uk. In England, which is all I know about, Mink hunting IS legal.

Mink hunting was spawned from Otter hunting when the Otter became protected in England and Wales 1978.

Basically the Mink filled a slot for the then Otterhounds.

I should think fox hunting is as good as legal again now.

Do not think that hunting any animal with dogs is in any way sporting.
Vermin or otherwise. There are plenty of better methods of control but then it is not all about, control, is it.
Me I would put the hunters down the hole & send the dogs in. I am with the fox every time.
Sorry guys but that is the way I feel about the subject.
