Default Washing line

Fish a bouyant fly on the point (maybe a booby) with a couple of buzzers on droppers of about 6ins. Gently figure of 8 back- the buzzers will fish in the top foot of the water. Best time to fish this method is when fish are rising. May be a waste of time if very sunny and no moving fish.
Other option is to fish very lightweight buzzers - they wont sink vey far and should fish high in the water.

Welcome to the forum,Use it to keep your chosen flies high in the water. But I also use it with Fast glass/DI3 to fish a curve in the cast.

Great over weed-beds, especially later in the evenings.

Any bouyant dry on the point and experiment with imitative flies on the droppers. I have found spiders to be very effective.

I've done well with a big bushy muddler on the point and buzzer on the dropper in the past but I find it really hard to stop myself fishing full blown dries when fish are rising.
I just can't resist the thrill of seeing the take even if I'm missing fish.

My favourite combination of nymphs for the droppers is a buzzer on the middle and either a diawl bach or cruncher on the top dropper.

Cheers

Mat

Not only does the booby keep the flies up in the water but the small disturbances in the water made by the booby whilst twitching the line back will also attract fish.

This means the line can be pulled back quickly when a fish rises close by to try and aggravate a take! One of my favourite setups on a reservoir

cheers guys,
going to put this into practice asap, qualified from Loch Leven for the Scottish National Final on Menteith at the end of August and have been informed this method is deadly there.

just one thing, is there a difference on leader length or just user preference??
