Default aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh I',m going slightly mad

I have just moved into a new house with a new job in the clevedon area ( near weston super mare, as a consequence since last october I have only fished twice and then only for a couple of hours each time. since moving in I have not found a decent fishable river within 30mins of my place so cannot seem to get out to fish, I prefer rivers to ponds so I know blagdon etc is nearby but that doesn't excite me. I would love to get out on a beautiful flee fowing grayling/trout river before I lose my mind. Is there one in the vacinity. there is the blind yeo and the yeo, but these look canalised and not very trouty....I NEED TO FISH.....can anyone offer any advice?

so soon, damn.....mind you it's not like I haven't thought of this already. Just need to find a job near a beautiful river that pays the same as I get now.....and not in a city....big, noisy, nasty places, full of cars with not many fish.

One word: WALES!!

OK, so it's not quite 30 minutes, but the fishing is damned good- I used to fish the Ewenny near Pencoed- fantastic little Trout and Grayling stream. The Usk isn't that far away either, but it doesn't have grayling. Even the Taff can be good to fish.

Drop me line if you want to go fishing- I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms here.

Cheers,

Jakes

i'm originally from caerphilly and only moved away last year, so wanted to go somewhere local, there must be somewhere. But I am planning to go for a weekend on the rhymney as that was my stamping ground, if you want to fish some of the stretches that I know I wouldn't object to some company.
Is there nothing in the North somerset area then?

Can't go to sweets until the season starts so usk is out of the question at the moment. The Taff has some lovely stretches too but is difficult to get down to .

Have a look at www.charfield.net North of Bristol just off junc 14 of the M5.

The Little Avon is a cracking little river with both trout and grayling, caught 13 last Saturday. Short rods and tricky wading at times. Not sure what membership availability is like at the mo.

PM me if you need more info.

Cheers

Aye, but it's a hell of a commute from Somerset!

slightly more than thirty minutes really though, not arguing about the quality of the fishing or the general environs, however as to "pop out for a quick fish" -ability; it lacks in certain criteria.

Mostly course fish but reputed to hold a good stock of trout & grayling
