Default How has the driest spell since 1941 been for you?

Hitler was getting ready to invade Russia the last time it was as dry as it has been recently. Here in Scotland it has been a challenge but also a worry as streams have shrunk to frightening levels. The damage to fragile ecologies will cast a shadow for some time.
I'm interested in how those out there have reacted to this drought.

Ldo I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for you, a few threads from you lately bemoaning the lack of rain. Where you at?
Here in Aberdeenshire its been an excellent season so far. I have only been fishing The Don for 3 years so not much to compare to but One of the guys I know who has fished it for 30 years is hoping it will drop a bit more. Its by no means low at the moment showing 3/4 inches above summer lows. Its only in the last 2 weeks or so that the water has warmed up so I guess the last of the snow has finally ran off just recently.

Here in North Wales the fishing has been OK at best due to the low river levels but on the bright side that hole in my waders just by my belly button has stayed above the water so no soggy foot when I get out. On the other hand how is it the wife planted 5 hanging baskets and now its my job to water then every night.

Chuileog, Ive just checked the Fish Don site and yes you have been very lucky with all that snowpack. Check the recent levels for the rest of Scottish rivers on Fishpal and you'll see how lucky!
