Afternoon All,

My Dad's birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks and as ever I want to use the precious time we have together (and my precious money!) to the best use by going fishing. Anyone got any ideas for a good special day stillwater or running water, not for silly money, around Hants area?

Have regularly fished all the usual suspects Avington etc but just wondered if anyone had any alternative suggestions? Anyone been to Dever recently? Or fished the Coln up at The Bull?

I've just checked out Fly fishing venues in the UK - Over 650 places to go fly fishing in the UK & the site seems to be up & running okay again.

If you want to go to a proper fisherman's playground take a look at Avon Springs.
Take a look at me blog the thread called Trip to Favourite Avon Springs 29.06.10 on first page where Dabhoy and I fished recently.
Top rainbows are there in the lakes with grayling, brownies and dace in the river all just down from the historic bit of the Avon of Frank Sawyer. It may fit in with what you are looking for.
