Unhappy I feel naked

Yesterday while on the Corrib I lost a dear old friend of mine, my beloved old blue Sage baseball cap. The wind was blowing a howler and promptly whipped my cap of my head and into the lough. The large rolling waves proceeded to swamp my cap and before I could get the boat turned my dear friend had sunk never to be seen again... I have had that cap for years and it had moulded to fit my big noggin perfectly and now I feel naked with out it, so I was just wondering how many of you out there have a sentimental item of fishing gear that you feel naked without when you go fishing.
Oh and buy the way if any one out there knows where I might get a new Sage cap to replace my old one I would be most grateful.

Sorry to hear of your sad loss TH.
We do get attached to certain things don't we.
What you need is a cap clip, see the thread from the editor, re Essential summer trout gear, a Snowbee cap clip is £2.99, basically a lanyard with a small crocodile clip each end.
Nice fish by the way.

Sage caps are gay anyway Andrew....
Ive got an old "been there, seen that Gone Fishin"
T-shirt that I bought years ago in the Florida Keys that I'm quite attached to.I used to think it brought me luck....but thats all bollox aint it.... It's got a few more holes in it now, courtesy of an encounter with some battery acid recently.............don't ask....
Anyhoo...Mrs Wee Jimmy has been making noises recently about refusing to bother washing it.I reckon its destined for the bin.....reckon I'll take it up to Loch Leven and give it a decent burial.I guess I might shed a wee tear when I see it fluttering away down into the North Deeps.....

Default Black Cat

Sure the cap was all faded and needed replaced anyway!

You should invest in a nice black pussy to set on your head...think of the luck you'd have then!!

Sorry to hear of your hats demise Andy. The only reason I keep my hair is to secure my hat. The adjuster strap goes under it and keeps the old hat securely on in any gale ever encountered. Ever thought of growing locks mate? It'll save you £££s in the long run. YKIMS

You could always do what my old man does, a bit of string with a small croc clip at each end. One end clips to his jacket, the other to the hat. It's just plain wrong though, like kids gloves on elastic through their coat sleeves.
