Default Lough Erne over the 12th Holidays

Hi Folks

Heading down to lough Erne for 4 days over the 12th of July Holidays, I'm hoping the weather will improve, as last week 2m wave were reported on the Broad lough!!!! Bad weather or not I'll be there for 4 days putting around on a cruiser, rowing boat in tow. Water levels are at record lows, and weed growth at record high... so all in all fishing forecast aint looking too rosie.

Anyone out there got any suggestions as to locations, techniques, patterns or tactics that might help counter the poor conditions. Even though Ive been to the Erne dozens of times, ive still never managed to catch a wild browie!!! lots of course fish and plenty of pike, but no trout!! (Ive only been flyfishing a couple of years)

Any Advise would be gladly welcomed

Cheers

Jonny

Thumbs up

Recent big winds are reported to have broke up some of the lesser weed. In between the big blow on Sunday some nice fish to 4lb were caught around Eagle down to Binghams. At least that is the report I got from someone who fished then.
Hope this is true as I and the non fisher are in the Carlton Hotel from the 10th for three days and I am hoping to hire a boat and get some trout fishing done, not totally on Keenaghan.
Although, if the rains arrive the Drowse is looking good.
