Default Pin fry

Pin fry are driving me crazy at the moment. Does anyone have any decent patterns or ideas for them?

Cheers.

Hi,

Yes I have tried them, and it's been ok but not great.

I have tied up some other new patterns and will let you know how I get on?

Thanks anyway,

Richard

Have a look at rogans gadger... it is a sea trout fly but i reckon tied small it would be a brilliant pin fry imitation

Have you tried pulling a booby fast through the top 2' with a trailing imitave pattern behind it?

I reckon the biggest problem with pin fry feeders is the shear amount of the natural pin fry. If you are trying to match and imitate it's a bit of a needle in a haystack scenario.

First of all, give them something to draw their attention to your cast [booby popping through the water or maybe a bright blob] then hopefully you then have a better chance of a follow and picking up the imitave pattern.

Great in theory at least!
