Default Game fair. Is it worth the admission charge

I would like your opinions on the game fair.
Having never attended an event like this before, I'm toying with the idea of going this year.
To be honest I have little interest in guns, gun dogs etc, so I would only be attending for the fishing village.

Is the admission price worth it, what I mean is and please don't take this the wrong way.I would be purchasing the family ticket at a cost of £50.00.
Would I be paying this to basicly walk round a giant outdoor shop, Tescos don't charge me to have a walk round.

Or am I missing something.

Sean

It's a very good day out imo. Not just for the fishing & shooting stuff but for al the other food & craft stalls.

The enterance fee is a rip off but i love the day out so pay. Affraid the rip off doesn't stop there, the food & drink is also very expensive once in but isn't that the same at all events like this now?

If you can stomach the initial cost i'm sure you'll have a great day.

And just how did you get in (for free)?

Just kidding fleeto, just kidding. But I understand your question. About 4 years ago I took my Son/Daughter to a Professional Baseball game as he had two 'free tickets' so only had to buy one ... and pay for food/drink once in side the stadium. THANK GOD I had a full wallet in my back pocket!!!!

Easily dropped $100 USD. Never have gone back to play where I had to pay more than a few 'bucks' to get into anything.

In the US, you'd better be willing to shell out "big bucks" if the word Professional (Sports) is anyway connected to the event.

imo i think its worth it,but i enjoy everything from the gundog, guns, fishing village and everything inbetween.
the food stalls can be expensive but these people also have to make a living and are also paying ridiculous fees for a pitch.
if tesco sold as much fishing and outdoor gear as the cla game fair i would gladly pay £50 to get in.

I try and go every year. I enjoy the fishing section (least) the guns (most) and then visit the dogs and horses (to keep the other half happy). That just leaves clothing shops, art, gardening, rural crafts etc etc.

You cant get round the whole show in a day and it gets very busy.........

But there are some serious bargains and a chance to try rods etc before you buy.

Advance tickets are a bit cheaper too.

Go very year as well as the Glamis fair ...great day out, plenty to see and buy!

Might not bother this year though...seen it all before and rather spend my pennies on a day's fishing

if your going to a game fair just to see what's what, save your money for a days fishing or a good night out with the family, but if your out to get some new gear and try bfore you buy, go for it, it also depends on the families interests too, and yours, are you really interested in other aspects of country living and supporting it in your attendance i personally haven't been to one for at least 5yrs as i have what i need and when i need something special i get it before the game fairs arrive or they're not on when i need them but for the last 2yrs i have missed the fly fair at stafford but not this year though, so, who/what and why are you thinking of going for also, does your bank manager know what your intending?????? all the best.

Sean, I went once, to Chatsworth and came away feeling like it was a rip off to be honest, haven't been again. Not just the entry, but the food and drink prices inside. Didn't help on that occasion that it p*ssed down and was a mudbath! A few good demonstrations, and cheap gear on sale....but add on the admission and sundry costs and it wipes out any savings (unless you're spending megabucks). Perhaps worth going once to sample it and make your own mind up - some people reckon its good as you can see - but I'd rather spend the money on fishing personally.
