Driest spell for 69 years apparently. It has really knackered a lot of small streams in eastern Scotland, with farmers making it far worse with unbridled abstraction. 'Custodians of the land' my ****. Sepa do nothing!

A quick question, Neil. Last time I was in Cork, admittedly a long time ago, there werent any orchards. Do they import the pulp, or grow the apples in Southern Ireland? Is there an actual cricket team from Clonmel?

Not much better in SW Scotland , LDO.

The net result of 6 hours reasonably heavy and and constant rain this morning .

And that's about 3'' higher than it was yesterday

my local stream was the same. some of the longer pools were literally at a standstill, more like stillwater fishing. one area which in april was about waist deep had dropped to about 14 inches..hopefully thing will freshen up now..
