clubs

hi i have just taken up fly fishing i live at pittington and was thinking about joining a local club im only 5mins from durham river but know its nearly all private fishing apart from 1 small stretch does anybody know what local clubs would be handy to join and are they expensive would appreciate your thoughts on this subject, terry
