Default First outfit

Hello,
New here and I'd like to put your guys experiance to the test; I have been fly fishing once ad enjoyed it so looking at getting some cheap tackle to get me started.

Been looking around the many websites selling the gear and come to the conclusion that buying an 'outfit' is the best option.
At the moment I am focusing on fisheries, but if possible I'd like the rod to be able to give lake/boat fishing a go.
Now then, I don't expect you guys to spoon feed me so I've put some kits I have found below, if you could leave your opinion on these or suggest other kits I'd appreciate it.

The first one I found was a Greys kit, seems to come with everything I need and it's a good price
Main concern is do I need a 10ft rod?

Greys G Series Outfits - SALE PRICE ONLY 99 99 - Limited Stock

The next one I found is the fourth one down on the following link (SONIK SK3 COMPLETE FISHING OUTFIT).

Yorkshire Game Angling Fly Fishing Outfits

Again, this comes with all the gubbins but not sure if the reel is up to much?

Thanks in advance for any advice

if you want cheap tackle, shakespear intermediate 9ft wf7 backing line plus flyline and leader and some manky flies £40 and its not a bad rod and line and reel

Technically, 'lakes' and 'fisheries' are more or less the same thing: expanses of still water containing hungry trout!

The G-series outfit you've posted would be ideal for starting out, however do have a good shop around for hidden bargains. Why not send Grommit (Ian Woods) on here a PM? He could set you up with a similar outfit at a lower price and with excellent service. The Shakespeare odyssey also receives favourable reviews.

For a fly line, get in touch with the PitsfordPirate (also on the forum). At only £17.50, they are hard to beat in terms of quality at that price point.

A 10ft rod will provide better control over flies when fishing from a boat, although you may find a 9ft or 9ft 6" rod less tiring on the arm when fishing from the bank.
