Thumbs up Excellent read!!

With your permission, and appropriate 'screen credits,' would like to do a 'cut and paste' of the above and post over to a couple of US based boards.

Let me know.

I'd add The Chomp , Confident leisurely rise of a steadily feeding trout. Distinguished occasionally by the audible chomp and more generally by the large bubble left following the rise.

This is the kind of trout you want to meet, a chomper.

Default great stuff

Nice thread H...

two more favourites of mine:
  1. "The Vacuum" - a close relative of the sip: often observed along lines of drifting debris, leaves, bubbles etc. There is no sign of the fish, the fly is sucked almost imperciptibly beneath the surface without the water breaking. Often a large fish.
  2. My personal favourite - "The Nodding Donkey": Always a large confident fish, the head just emerges clean out of the water vertically and engulfs the fly before sliding back below.

Good additions tigermoth & diawl bach. People feel free to add any more. I think I have covered the common ones but there is always something missed.
If it helps anyone, then the posting has been worthwhile.
