Pitsford Pike
The Anglian Water report for Pitsford last week mentions that thirteen boats went out in the first week of lure fishing for pike, and that one boat had thirty to ten pounds, and several boats caught double figures. I fished on the rudder a fortnight ago, and had two big pike in an hour, then had a seven pounder later on, which took a size 12 diawl bach!
Given that there seems to be a smaller head of coarse fish in Pitsford, compared to Grafham and Rutland, the pike must be making a big impact on the fish stocked. I wonder if that is why it seems so hard this season?

MIGHTY ARE HIS PREPARATIONS!
He goeth forth full of hope and when the day is far spent he returneth
Smelling of strong drink, and the truth is not in him
