Default Pitsford Pike

The Anglian Water report for Pitsford last week mentions that thirteen boats went out in the first week of lure fishing for pike, and that one boat had thirty to ten pounds, and several boats caught double figures. I fished on the rudder a fortnight ago, and had two big pike in an hour, then had a seven pounder later on, which took a size 12 diawl bach!
Given that there seems to be a smaller head of coarse fish in Pitsford, compared to Grafham and Rutland, the pike must be making a big impact on the fish stocked. I wonder if that is why it seems so hard this season?

It could be that recruitment at Pitsford isn't as good as at Rutland or Grafham. Or you are a rubbish Pike angler

Just keep plugging [sorry for the pun] away.

It will be hard at Pitsford - has to be - half the Draycote regulars are going - they can fish a bit too ! ( Once more our undying thanks to Severn Trent and its enlightened Recreation Management Style! )

Best wishes

Steve P !

The water at Pitsford is as clear as i have ever seen it this year as well which isnt ideal for bank sport.
