Bought a few capes from them a few years ago and they were absolutly shocking, rotting in fact, I could smell them the minute I opened the package. They were good with the returns though, have not used them since.

Often made the trip into Glasgow from Livingston when it was just the old store down by the Gallowgate was worth it for the vast range and bargains that were to be had. Sadly the new store just didn't cut it for me prices seemed to get a hike probably to pay for the new location!

Default Good and Bad

Used them a few times, great deal on my rod.

Then bought on line and they sent through a HD7
instead of a HD3, also sent alternatives to what
I ordered in terms of backing.

Would buy if went through to the shop but would
stay away from the online bit.

I've used them many times for fly tying material mail order. Never had an issue and always prompt. Friends have commented that they won't use them as online postage is stated as a flat £5.99. However they actually only charge cost- usually about £2 for a jiffy bag. I contacted them letting them know it was putting people off and they said it was something they were trying to fix. May actually be fixed now as I haven't brought for a while.

Bar a few years ago when i got some poor service, they have since been top notch and i get almost all of my fly fishing and tying gear from them. Great service in-store and good service for small items online. And now they send the small items in jiffy bags.

Used them once and once only , got bad service so they lost a customer, thats how it should be, never go back to a company if you get bad service, make them pay the price

I bought a cheap reel from them but found my line was getting caught between the line guide and and the lip of the spool. After several weeks I took it back without a receipt and explained the problem. They told me to pick another reel or take another the same as the original. I picked a reel that was five pounds dearer and they took both my lines off the original and spare spool, put them onto the new reel and spare spool, gave me a receipt for the new reel and never charged me the fiver difference.
I only live a few minutes away from the shop so I,ve never tried the mail order but I have to give credit where it,s due, great speedy service.

My personal experiences have been good with them. I picked up the outgoing Guideline LeCie salmon rod for about half the previous selling cost, so well made up with the service oh and the rod

I do like running through for a look, its like a sweetie shop for us fishers in there, dangerous taking additional money with you

ive dealt with them on line a few times over the years and have to say always had good service.
once the top section of a cheapo salmon fly rod i had broke.apparently a design flaw(you get what you pay for!) they replaced it very quickly for free, even though strictly speaking they didnt have to.
i would have no problem using them again.
