It was definitly not a boat that caused it this was a real wave that traveld the full width of boardhouse it was very odd. even the chap at the boat place could not shed any light on it ? Can anyone explain this or has anyone seen this before.

I have seen this before

Im glad someone else has because now I know im not mad.
I was on holiday in fermanagh with my family last year and went out on Lough Erne in my boat at 6.30am. Now Erne is 30,000+ acres and it was like a sheet of glass. There wasn,t another boat in sight. I watched this freak wave for about 30 minutes as it moved towards from the distance. It passed me slowly and carried on down the Lough. Like you say it was about a foot high.
I asked a few locals who said they had seen similar waves before. Some reckon it was currents and a build up of energy, bouncing off one shore
