Default New guy has got serious trouble with rod sections falling out

Hi all im new to the site,

I purchased a flextec CDX66 and ive been practising in the field no end and my castings getting pretty good although every time i go out the sections work them selfs loose and eventually fall out mainly the tip and middle section. I went on my first ever fly trip and the same happened resulting in me diving in after it lol. Although on the up side my first ever trip and with a dry fly i caught 2 wild brown trout despite people telling me dry fly is no good for a begginer but hey i did lose a big one, really, even if all fishermen say they do, i did there has been wild brownies up to 8lb from the river inny

Any help with my problem much appreciated

Cheers.

you can use isolating tape to hold them together

common on cheaper rods where they varnish the whole blank, rub a candle on the male bit.

If it's a new rod you should take it back to where you bought it. It shouldn't really be happening.

out of interest what does the twisting do, rub of the finish to make it hold, what would happen if i got some wet and dry paper and just took the finish off a bit, because i notice on my really high quality sea fishing rods its just the bare carbon that makes the join and the force of casting you have to do there is immense as alot of you will know i actually though of that just now

Inspecting the rod it does appear to have the same finish all the way down even in the joins.

Thanks for your help.

You can try candle wax, tiny bit of tape, etc......... i wouldn't bother as these are usually short term fixes........ you'l often find the rod sections turning out of line during sessions and generally spoiling your outing.... under warrenty ?...... tell them the problem and ask for an exchange.
I've had this before and it's done my head in.........
