Default Catch and Release on Larger Waters??

Hi Chaps,

I am looking to start fishing some of the bigger waters as opposed to the smaller commercial waters that I have been fishing on.

I plan to fish Ladybower on Friday as I am over that way picking up exam results.

Looking on the website, I see you must take your first 4 fish (can’t remember the exact limit) and then you must cease fishing or buy another permit.

My question is, are all big waters like this (no catch and release after the limit)? If so, I am worried about bagging my limit after a short while than having to pack up! (I know I might not even catch that many, but you get what I mean...)

Thanks,

Delboy.

At Ladybower, after June 1st, the limit goes up to 6 fish. You then have to pack up, or buy another ticket. From the reports I've heard recently about Ladybower, I wouldn't worry too much about bagging an early limit - you may have to fish all week to get one!

Tommy.

Cheers Tommy,

I've read mixed reviews for Ladybower but thought I would give it a shot!

Hope you have a good day. I would be interested to know how you get on.

It may be still be worthwhile taking a few Mayfly patterns, I used to prefer a Grey Wulff.

In answer to this - No. For example Anglian water allows C+R on its resevoirs.
