Do you really need it? I used to use it all the time but gave up.

I use Maxima and Stroft. Haven't noticed catching less fish.

Dont be a "mug " stop buying it it aint catching you fish its catching you
plenty of other fluros out there and good old mono which is very much cheap , and may i add, it hasnt stopped coarse anglers catching fishFluoro is not invisible in water, as is everything else we use, its in the mind, you present the right fly at the right depth in the right way you will catch.£20+ is a con for line, if i use fluoro i use diawa or wychwood and at 5.99 for 50mtrs its still lousy value have faith in you ability not use yer line as an excuse, youll be a better angler for it

Depends what you want it for. I use Riverge Grand Max for delicate dry fly work on rivers and I think it does give me an edge, plus its more resilient than other fluoros so will take getting stuck in trees, rocks etc. Failing that, Rio Powerflex co-poly. But for general meat and drink type fly fishing, no I wouldn't bother, also, like you say, if I need more finesse then I use tippets from hi tec coarse/pole lines like Preston Innovations Reflo Powerline or MAP Carptek (co-polymers rather than fluoros), which are very durable, very fine diameter and also much better value.

Had 3 double hook-ups, on Riverge, in the odds and sods at Grafham on Sunday; smashed to bits each time.
