Don't want to put the cat amongst the pigeons, but can anyone tell me why the lake is considered the "creme de la creme" of Scottish competition fishing?

I've never fished it so can't pass comment myself and this is a genuine question.

is this the only venue used or are other venues rotated?

It has it moments like a few of the other fisheries used in the competition circuit. Each angler will have his own favourite. Anglers from the East coast may favour Leven and those from the west may prefer Menteith even vice versa. Its horses for courses
