Default River Suir

A great destination for brown trout fishing at very low cost . When you compare 75 euro's for a weeks fishing for wild trout against the hundreds of pounds a day in Hampshire,it makes me smile. The fishing itself was very mixed due to an extremely harsh winter . Very few sedges were up and about which would usually be the case that time of year . Upsteam nymphs and down stream wets were productive. Small drys worked well . Larger wets
were the order for the late evening rise which occured at around 10.30 pm. A massive amount of small trout were caught .There were a few over the pound weight but without the big sedges the larger fella's did not wish to play. Anyone wishing to give it a go a few suggestions ,fly aer lingus, hire your car from Dan Dooley, Fish the Cahir anglers water and stay at the Wishing Well in Cahir . Thats what I have been doing for years . My next trip
to Cahir is in September ,departing Thursday and returning Monday evening £475 ,covering your flights , car hire accomodation and fishing . Anyone considering making the trip by thermselves/friends may wish further information ,am more than happy to help in any way I can

O Reilly
