Default Wychwood comp viewfinder boxes, cats whiskers & tequela blobs

Hi all,

Would like your thoughts on a couple of problems that i've got.

I've got a a wychwood comp viewfinder box. Does anyone else find that they are not deep enough to keep marabou winged flies free from the lid? Any dirt that is picked up on the lid gets transfered to these marabou wings.

This is problem No 1. I tied up a large selection of Cats Whiskers at the begining of the season....not used that many but all the ones in the box now have discoloured wings.... I've always found that once a cat has been used it's no where near as effective as when the marabou is a clean, bright, white. Is there anyway i can clean them to get that brilliant white back?

Tequela blobs for me are getting pretty expensive as i can only use them once. I find that the orange colour runs into the yellow after use and they are then pretty usless. I've tried various fritz's but keep having the same probelm. Anyone know of a fritz, in the propper dark orange, that doesn't run?

Thanks all

I had one bought for me as a b/day pressie, as you say the lids are too close , also if you actually fill the box you can hardly pick out flies, not too impressed , would only now buy one as a nymph box and then leave every other row empty

From my experiences when say a black marabou lure gets wet and touches the white marabou lure (wet or dry) then the white seems to pick up a bit of the black. This especially happens if wading and water gets into the box.
Hope this helps
