Dropping anchor when you're in a 'line' of drifting boats would tend to impact upon your popularity at the boat dock at the end of the day!

There may be no rule to say that you have to drift, but there
is a rule to say that you
must not anchor in another boat's drift.
In this case, if the front boat of a line of 3 drifting boats drops anchor, they
are anchoring in another boat's drift and
this is against the rules.
I was also on Grafham yesterday and it was a total joke in Savages. I had to call out to stop one boat from dropping the anchor who had just motored into the creek and stopped right in front of us!
It's not a problem when the fish have spread out across the reservoir, but when they are concentrated in particular areas for someone to anchor over them just says to me
"F**k you. These are my fish and no one else is allowed to have a go at them". They then proceed to bank fish off a boat for the rest of day. Good boat skills!
We had to move away from Savages as it was impossible to get any kind of sensible drift and fortunately moved to another area that had a number of large fish feeding on the surface. We managed to catch fish to over 5lb and ended up having a great day.
Previously I would have shared this location for the good of all, but as of now I will give no further information about Grafham on this forum as I'll just find a clump of anchored boats full of numpties every time I venture out.
And as for those guys who anchor all day over fish, chuck a bung on and catch loads of fish. Please don't pretend to yourselves that you are good boat anglers. You're just selfish bank anglers who just happen to be bank fishing off a boat.
