Default Yesterday on the Wharfe and Ure

Good day yesterday on the BCCA waters, principally at Buckden (Wharfe) and Worton (Ure). Lovely weather. Here's a pic of friend Andrew in a pool about 200yds below the stepping stones at Worton...

Now that is good news! I'm staying nr Skipton and planning to fish at Worton on Thursday and hopefully Buckden on Wednesday. The BCAA membership seems to be a real bargain to a bloke (a Yorkshireman at that) who spends £35 for a DAY grayling fishing on the Kennet!
Regards
Peter

It hurts Bruce. £37 on the Itchin and £35 on the Test. Otherwise it's a 140 miles round trip to the Little Avon.

Ah, I recognise it! Fished it a couple of years ago. Lovely stream. I was offered membership but it is just a bit too far from Newbury.....mind you at £45 a year I should have just joined, I'd have been happy with just a couple of trips when on hols. In Skipton at the mo so hope to get some fishing on the BCAA waters as I mentioned above, then a week in Pickering fishing there. Post and piccies will follow.

Regards
Peter

That looks like a nice spot Bruce, where is that ? £45 a year thats cheap can anyone get membership?
River fishing is one of those things i always mean to do but never sure how to get into it,not like a fishery where you just turn up and pay your money.

Is that the Gargrave/Broughton stretch?

If so, watch out for the herds of marauding cows, and the big black bull.

Snapped my rod running away from them a few weeks ago.

EDIT to ADD: Oh, its Buckden.............Last time I was up there, Kingfishers were diving in a pool right in front of me.
