Default Caenis

While fishing the other evening, it started ,the dreaded Caenis hatch got into full flow. Ass usual this situation can make the catching of trout extremely difficult. What to do next, we've all been there !
While looking through the box i noticed this medium sized sparkley orange thing, I had previously found at another water. I thought to myself why not, so on it went, single. pulled through the water about 6in under the surface it worked a treat ! told the guys next to me what i had on and soon we all had fish. I know it was instinctive takes we were getting and nothing to do with matching the hatch, but when things get hard dont dismiss the instinctive nature of trout.

any other cures for the curse out there guys ?

I hate them, there was a hatch to day tried everything imitive and larger nymph attractors. I ended up getting a few swirls to a size 24 parachute GRHE using 3lb tippet.

John.

caenis imitation size 20 dry and go down to 3lb leader. The light leader makes a big difference.
