Craneflies emerge all season but predominantly later in the season. The recent warm, humid conditions have clearly warmed the ground and encouraged a good number to 'make the effort'.

I've only seen one or two naturals around lately, but Walkerwood in Stalybridge, Cheshire has been fishing well to artificials lately, regardless of weather conditions.

Craneflies hatch out all year round although the main hatches are in September, usually following a spell of rain.

Funny you bought this up as the other day I said to myself gosh we’ve had a lot of daddy longlegs getting into the house recently.

Living in a rural area we’ve always had some around throughout the year, but I can’t remember seen as much as we have so early on in the year.

It must be the right condition for them !!!!!!
