Default Wading Boots, How long should they last?

I have a pair of orvis clearwater boots. After 2 trips they started coming apart on the right foot around the toe cap not that this bothered me much as the stitching was there to secure them. After owning them and using them for 8wks, the felt sole has started wearing through to the rubber and the other toe cap rubber is coming apart too. I've maybe worn them 20 times. At this rate I'll be through to the neoprene stocking feet on my waders by the end of the season. The thing is I haven't done much walking in them as I would normally do. How long should I reasonally expect from boots?

Not the first thread recently regarding how poor some boots are. If I were you I'd return them to Orvis, their customer service is second to none.

If I send them back I'l get another pair and they will fall apart rapidly too. Could I take them back to the Orvis shop in Edinburgh even though I bought them from John Norris?

I got some snowbee xs-pro boots recently and love 'em - lightweight and very comfortable.
However the rubber on the heel is coming away after only five outings. I should send them back but might just glue them as it's not that bad. Would contact adhesive do the job?

No chance contact will do the job, water penetration would make short work of that. Tiger Seal as used in automotive seem welds might be durable enough.

Orvis wil give you a full refund, if you ask for it.

Surely not if you bought them from someone else? I'm sure they'd be willing to replace them though, even if they're new it's actually the retailer's responsibility to sort things out, not the manufacturers.
