We have all sorts of stocked comercial fisheries in the U.K ranging from Carp to Rainbow Trout and recently even Salmon. This got me wondering if it would be feasible to have a stocked saltwater fishery inland?. It would'nt have the same sort of adventure about it but it would give people a chance to experience how British saltwater fish fight. You could even go the lengths of heating it and putting in Tarpon and Barracuda lol. Just a thought JB

While it certainly is possible, it would simply be too difficult to maintain a constant set of conditions in an enclosed artificial saltwater environment that is exposed to the elements. Large amounts of precipitation would cause the pH and specific gravity of the water to fluctuate rapidly. Marine environments are very stable chemically, making marine organisms sensitive to sudden and large environmental changes.
