Default The Great Reservoir Pioneers - How many are left?

Let me trot out a few names:

Tom Ivens, Cyril Inwood, Richard Walker, Arthur Cove, Bob Church, Dick Shrive, Mick Nicholls, Steve Stephens, Fred Wagstaffe, Bev Perkins, Keith Robinson, Frank Cutler, Jim Gibbinson, Steve Parton and a few others I can name.

But who are still around and fishing today? Maybe you know a few and can mention them on this thread?

During the 70s and whilst resident in South Africa, I used to get "Trout Fisherman" every month and the articles in it both inspired and encouraged me in my trout fishing in that far flung land.

Those articles, especially by Walker and Church, were priceless.

There used to be some old codger called Ron Clay, but I don't think he fishes much now - spends all his time "fishing" on internet forums instead apparently.

If the truth be known I fish 3 times and perhaps more a week.

But only for short sessions.

And I caught 4 trout yesterday, all on dry fly - griffiths gnat - making a total of 14 for the week.

Wasn't there the story of the great Tom Ivans being thrown off Grafham for groundbaiting with trout pellets. He was espied by the curmudgeonly David Fleming-Jones head ranger. This would have been about 1970 ish.
