Default Ballo fishery, Fife

Anyone got any up to date info on Ballo, prices etc ?
Also, how's it fishing ?
The website states only 3 boats are available but I don't think it's been updated since 2008.

Thought I'd bring this thread back to life to see if anyone's fished here recently.
(Not that it was ever really alive judging by the lack of response )
Seems to be under new management with a new website too :- Ballo Trout Fishery

I haven't fished the Ballo in over 20 years, used to be great drifting over the shelf at the Island, took about 20 in a shift

Cheers Gary.
Only fished it a handfull of times myself last time being about 5 years ago.
Had a couple of good days on the far side near the dam.
Quite fancied trying the boat but the new site says they don't have any just now.

Fished here regularly until about 6 years ago, it used to fish well down the shore from the lodge towards the dam, reasonable wading, at this time of year I used to do well there with a size 12 Blae and Black or a Black pennel, later in the year Olives of almost any description and varied sizes, towards the back end Mallard & Claret, 12 - 16, three flies on a cast, use the 'dibble' with a long rod to bring the top dropper through the wave, fish across the wave wherever possible. From the boat, traditional loch style worked well for me using a heavy point fly, usually black or dark anyway, and an attractor in the middle, then a 10 or 12 Kate Mclaren on the top dropper, long dropper and practice dibbling until you can almost dap the top dropper. Worked for me 9 times out of 10.

Its the guy that owns alladdins cave in Leslie that took it over last year. I fished it 18 months ago under the old management. Gets really stormy being that high up!

Id certainly check the weather before heading up!!!
