Default Advise on waterproofing treatment

Have a wading jacket made by Nomad.... this is years old. Anyway... after I originally bought it, I found that it let water in..Had various discussions with the Nomad owner etc etc... and basically put it away... Its a lovely warm jacket and decided recently to try n revive it... after using Nixwax on it to treat it... it still lets in water... I gave it 2 treatments ie, 2 x Nixwax bottle sprays to the reccomendations on the bottles.. HELP please

I use Nikwax on all my waterproof and fleeces and have even used it on my tent with great results. I would wash it first in Nikwax Tech Wash then wash it in Nikwax TX Direct instead of the sprays. I washed my works fleece in it and even after working all day in heavy rain I was always drier than the guys wearing the provided waterproof jackets

I have had a slightly different experience from Fishtales and yourself Captain.

Needed to reproof my Greys wading jacket a couple of years back. used the Nikwax wash to clean then the wash in proofer as Fishtales recommends.

P**h! is all i can say.

Tried it twice and it let in like a sieve.

Third time used the spray on proofer.

Got the girlfriend to wear the jacket, hood up so that I made sure that all was covered appropriately and liberally.

Fab job, water beading of it like a ducks back.

Due for another shot this year so for me it will be the wash and spray.
