The balsam seems more widespread than the knotweed where i work bruce! although the knotweed is bad enough! don't know where you work Bruce but do you have a programme at work for dealing with this problem ?

The Monnow folks recomend pulling 50 a day , not over difficult to do , i pulled several hundred on the saturday of the social whilst brewing up with the Kelly kettle , much harder on the Hondhu as you had to go looking for them !

I fish in the Kent Medway Basin and the whole place is infested. It would take a whole army of people from every club and owner to kill it. Trouble is we could clear it from our section but then the thing would infest back down stream.

It is OK at this time of the year as the natural plants have a march on it. But in a months time the whole bankside will be infested.

At least the bumble bees love it.
