Hardy Graphite De-Luxe 9' 6" 6/7 (I have this rod)

I would be very greatful if someone could tell me a little about my own rod the Graphite De_Luxe and what the difference is between the Hardy Favourite. Same material/Length etc. I assume the action will be different.

Also I Have just picked up another Graphite De-Luxe 6/7 but I just noticed that it is slightly longer 10'. What bearing will this ahve on my casting?

The Favourite was the cheaper of the two. As I remember it the Favourite was made with an unground blank and had purple whippings. These rods had reputations for being very tough rods and I am farly sure both were made in Alnwick. I used to own a Hardy Favourite 10ft 4/5 - a very slow rod but ideal for spider fishing. I wish I still owned it as I do this kind of fishing again.

Thanks very much for the reply. I have been after a little back ground on my own rod. I was recomended the rod (Graphite-DeLuxe) by a couple of my dads mates and have been very very happy with it, in fact I just bought another one although it is 10' rather than 9'6".

If anyone has time I have another question...

1) What difference would that extra 6" make...yes I see the funny side of that question
