Default midlands reservoirs- advice

hi, im planning a trip to rutland ,grafham area and have never fished any of those reservoirs. have fished carsington and hanningfield and started fly fishing last yr. would it be better to fish 3 days on one water or try to sample a new one each day? i was thinking of grafham rutland and eyebrook but am thinking it may be too much to try to do in 3 days.
any advice welcome

Grafham has been fishing exceptionally well recently so book your boat well in advance if you go there.

Personall I'd want to try at least two just for the change of scenery.

If you absolutely want to fish over three days, I would suggest choosing from Grafham, Rutland, Ravensthorpe and Pitsford because they are all Anglian water ressies and you can get a three day deal including permit and boat, £169.00 for two anglers.

You also get 10% discount in the lodge shops.

You can do three different ressies over the three days, or stick to just one, it's up to you.

Hi Neil,

The pirate is right, the AW ressies are your best bet. Could have a couple of days at rutland, grafham or pitsford and then try ravo for the chance of something a bit bigger. Let me know when your coming down if you like and maybe we can put some of those swap flies to good use A relative newbie myself (started last year too) but I fish grafham regularly so I might be able to give you a few pointers (the partially sighted leading the blind if you will :P).

Had a fantastic evening at grafham last night off the bank, 8 fish in 2 hours! personal record for me! had at least 3 or 4 others on and kicking and plenty of takes too, was fast and furious even managed to tempt one on a dry fly, another first at grafham

thanks for the advice, i know its a bit of a personal decision but i am struck by indecisionitis at present and know i will get a ball-ache for going on a fishing trip with father in law; so trying to maximise the fishing. we will be staying in corby which seems central and cheap.
the AW deal seems like a good plan.- thanks for the tip.

I live on the outskirts of Corby and would say the best place to stay is the Premier Inn, inexpensive quality comfortable accommodation and food is excellent.

Premier Inn Corby Hotel UK

Book online for best deals.

Nice one Neil.

You are pretty central to all the decent ressies from there, less than 10 mins to Eyebrook, 25 mins to Rutland, Pitsford, Raventhorpe and Elinor, 35 mins to Grafham.

Let me know when you are down, we'll have a pint and I'll try and point you in the right direction for areas, methods and flees.

The Pirate.
