Default blanked today

i got to the fishery around 8ish and started on the drys loads of fish rising but the wouldnt take my fly .I tried midge, klinkhammer ,daddy long legs ,shipmans buzzer and caddis.Nothing
Changed pond and tried 2 types blood worm, buzzer ,cats whisker, black fritz, and a couple of others i dont know the name of,still nothing so changed to another pond and did it all again, after 4 hours decided it wasnt gonna happen,i didnt see anyone else catch either.
When i was pulling the lures i could see the fish going for them then turning away at the last minute
Its not like the fish werent feeding,oh well thats fishing i guess

If it's anything like our C&R fishery, Wharncliffe, near Sheffield, it's a common occurrence, and happens every season. The place is surrounded by trees and the trout gorge themselves exclusively on greenfly - they won't touch anything else! This is likely to carry on for the next month, depending on the weather!!!

That's my roosting place.

They see plenty of lures there mate,

Last time i fished, pulling a single skinny comp. 10 black buzzer { fast } very high in the water nailed em.......... won't say on here how many, but a few
South lake, knowlesons pool and hawkins.

Pm me next time your going and i'll try and get over for a few hours with ya.

Its a nice spot, had a couple the other night on a griffiths gnat on that big lake thats really clear the one nearest the house, just under the overhanging bush at the side of the path.Thats seems like a productive spot.but today was really hard work i dont know what went wrong only used the lures in desperation really,i saw a pearch cruising around in there too

It is !, very productive......... alway's fish holding and rising there, it's often a sheltered spot. That pool is Knowlesons pool. You often have to work for the fish in Knowlesons but it's rewarding.

The next lake down is the South Lake and that's were the numbers of fish are, only problem is the weed doesn't die off as it used to through winter so you've gotta fish high and horse them in a bit.

As far as fishing and tickets go it's a great little complex with a few options.

Have you tried Tanfield Lodge ?.............. west tanfield.

There are members of the crane fly family which hatch throughout the spring, summer and autumn months, though the main one is indeed late summer/early autumn. Fish will hit the artificial offering anytime though, so always worth a go.
