Default Bright green beetle thingies

Just got home from a few hrs fishing my local water,it started off a nice warm muggy day ,fish moving everywhere, caught one after 10 mins or so on a grey klink and thought was going to be a good afternoon,Oh how wrong. The fish really came 'on' head and tailing, boils everywhere, but no joy,was then i noticed a few small (about 4-5mm) long, lime greeny looking beetle type insects, slimmish, not chunky like your normal beetle shape, drifting by on the light breeze.I stopped and could see fish taking these down,so they were feeding on them. They wouldn't take anything barr these beetles,so my question is,has anyone come across this kind of insect before, and more importantly are there any patterns tied for these anyone knows about?
Cheers
Ian

Two dry fly patterns I always have with me are some foam beetles in both black and green and ants in both red and black. If there is the slightest breeze it is amazing how often both of these insects end up in the water and the trout and greyling will just slurp them up!

Take care
