My first pair of chest waders were Ocean. They're PVC coated polyester and quite sturdy.

However, they're not the most comfortable waders to wear, particularly if the weather is anything like warm - you'll end up smelling like a polecat's crutch!

Very strong waders.
Ok if you dont do a lot of walking. Good thing about them is they last for years.

Oceans are the strongest most enduring waders available. They will last you for years, are almost indestructable and are repaired so easily compared to new breathable kind. If you're doing any wading be sure and get the studded versions.

They are however not perfect, as someone on here has already mentioned they make you sweat like cat in a chineese resteraunt... Also I'm boot size 8, and a slim guy but the waders are cut for someone the girth of Susan Boyle!

If you're going to be walking up river banks they are pretty uncomfortable. I should say that I had my last pair for 15 years! Now I'm using Simms and looks like they will need to be replaced next season (4th) and I've already replaced a pair of wading boots after just two seasons.

Value for money the Oceans are excellent!.

Hope this helps

Default Ocean Waders

The drawbacks have been noted by Lighthouse and the plus side by bbamboo.I have a pair which are useful and they do wear well.Mine came via a friend who runs a local trout farm so guess you could say they are more a commercial type of wader.Easy to get in and out of.Good if you want to drop a few pounds in the summer walking around in themSeriously they are good if in summertime you can just put them on and get in the water and spend most of the time there.I did like them for night fishing for sea trout in a local estuary as you can wear plenty of insulation under them.

I had a pair of oceon thigh waders for 15 yrs they are almost indestuctable, I wear a pair of oceon chesties for sea trout at night due to the amount of bramble and blackthorn I have to battle through, yes you do sweat in them but my they are tough and the cleated and tungsten stud soles give superb grip..

I see that Atkins angling have them reduced in price at the moment but I have never ordered from them so you may have to ask about opinions regarding the company.

The idea set up would be a pair of oceans and a cheep set of breathable for walking or hot summer days.
Regarding breathable they don’t like thorns or brambles another good reason for oceans

I don’t think anyone can knock ocean waders their bulletproof.

Highly recommended

Can't remember anybody onthis forum who's had a good word to say about Atkins Angling.....some one was on here complaining that he'd been waiting since the last labour government for a delivery
