I had a really ncie time there in September last year, took a mate from work for his first time fly fishing and he managed to land 3 lovely little rainbows. The place has some lovely brown trout in it which were all too happy to show themselves in the edges for a bit of lightweight stalking.

Most of the fish we caught were on buzzers suspended below big foam daddies according to my log book, and we only sihed the smaller top lake as my friend was a bit self conscious about his casting and there were a few people on the big lake.

Fantastic day out though and will definitely be going back this year.

Dan

I have fished it quite a lot and find it a lovely place to fish. Very peaceful with very pleasant grounds. Water can be very clear and you should be able to see plenty of fish. Usually lots of fly life.
I have been most succesful with smallish dries and damsel nymphs. There is a book in the fishing hut with the successful flies.

I have only fished the top lakes - don't know why, but it always works for me and I always go away having enjoyed myself.

Definitely a place to try if you prefer a more relaxed fishing experience in quiet environment.

This place has a very good mayfly hatch, so you could be in luck. Go armed with some suitable patterns. Top lake seems to have the hardest fighting fish for some reason.

Cheers

Andy
