The Northallerton club water has very big stocks of chub , good barbel and a fair head of Grayling. Trout are not very common as it is on the very lower limit of where wild fish breed and few are in evidence. I am the chairman of the next club above and we do stock ; a few of our fish probably move downstream. But the conditions at the moment are utterly hopeless- I would not expect much at all. Walk the river again on a muggy evening with a bit of fresh water in and you will see lots of fish

I'm a member and have been out a few times this year, on the stretch below Richmond mainly for a couple of hours or so in the evening.
I blanked for the first time on Sunday on one of my favourite stretches but usually manage one, or occasionally two. Everything I've caught this year has been in faster water and taken on wets.
The fish aren't visible at the moment and there are very few signs of fish rising; those that are seem to be grayling.
As Grayson said, the conditions aren't great at the moment and the water level is quite low.
Wait for some decent rain to flush the system through and some warmer weather and hopefully things will improve
