Taking a near beginner salmon fishing shortly, and need them to have a lesson and catch a fish first.

Where is there a nice still water near London that is currently fishing well, where can get some tuition and a guaranteed catch. (Fishing stockies in a great lake is my idea of hell, and I cannot be bothered with it, so I'm going to need some help if it's to be a successful day!)

Seriously, depends on how "near" London, and whereabouts you are. I live in Essex, and there are a few instructors/fisheries around.
I started with a day at Chigborough, with a chap called Ken Mansfield, I learned a lot in a day, and caught my first fish. They have a beginners lake, where it's hard [I]not[I] to catch. Heres a link: Tuition
