Default a poor lonesome frenchy in scotland

Good evening,

I am french and y will have 3 days off in Scotland from the 19 to the 22 of June. I'd like to go fly fishing not too far away from Edimdurgh (3 hours max). As you can see, my english isn't very good and it's very difficult for me to find how y could fish trout "fly only" and "catch and release". It seems to me that it'll be good to go to Piltochry but I'm not sure and I dont know if I am allowed to go fishing there.
Could you please help me. Where would you advice me to go and what will y have to do when y will be there?

In France we say: "un conseil en vaut un autre". It means that i'll be happy to help someone who want's to go fishing in France. For exemple Bass fishing in Golfe du Morbihan (Bretagne).

Will you have transport? What sort of fishing do you like - Rivers or Lochs? Trout or Salmon, or even Pike? I take it you'd prefer a bit of scenery as well!

There are lots of good rivers and lochs within 3 hours of Edinburgh.

The rivers Tweed, Clyde, Earn, Tummel, Tay and many others are possible venues. Permits are very cheap at around £8 per day and the trout fishing can be truly excellent they have excellent fish - even if they can be very difficult at times. If you are interested in these I'll let you know where to get permits and how to get there.

There are good lochs too. Some are close to Edinburgh but 3 hours drive from Edinburgh will take you to some of the wildest lochs imaginable if you are able to navigate and are fit. I can suggest some locations if you wish.

Hi carbo, and welcome to the forum.
Your English is excellent, if I were you I would try Tinto fishery in Lanarkshire.
Some excellent fishing to be had there, and accomodation if you need it.
Type the word Tinto into the search button at the top of the screen and it should show you some information.
Enjoy your stay.
Steven.
