Default Monomaster

Never one to overly praise equipment, I treated myself to a Monomaster three weeks ago.

So far to date, it has swallowed 11 'abandoned' pieces of Nylon totalling almost 70ft (most Maxima, judging from colour), and the benefits to me have been as follows: -

1 Gold/Zebra 1 oz Toby
2 Silver Mepps
1 Clear 1 inch Bubble Float
1 1 oz Sinker

Costs covered already.....

Simply clip the terminal tackle off and place in pocket, wrap mono into the Monomaster and keep fishing, no mess or fuss or birds nests in pockets.

Great piece of kit!

I agree.
I bought myself one of these, and it is a great little gizmo.
The only thing I found is that it can get jammed if there is too much line inside it. The excess line tends to wrap around the spindle at the ends, and it jams. When this happened to me, I couldn't turn the **** either way.So the best thing is to regularly empty it at home. According to the sales blurb, it says it will hold a season's worth of waste. Not with the tangled leaders I have to waste !!
But having said that, I never go fishing without it now.

Having seen the problems discarded mono can do to birds I think they should be a must have bit of tackle for all anglers.

Thumbs up Monomaster

I'm a convert as well, never on the bank or boat without it.

I agree. Great piece of kit that makes a fiddly chore a simple task.

A friend of mine has one and it's a great bit of kit. I spoke to sportfish trying to buy one. Was told they don't stock them as they thought they wouldn't sell. Think they may change their minds soon.
